Bill Clinton Parodies Viral 'Texts From Hillary' Meme For April Fools Day

Former President Bill Clinton pulled an April Fools joke on Twitter involving a popular meme of his wife, Hillary.

On Monday night, the ex-president posted a picture of himself sitting down in black sunglasses while looking on an oversized tablet -- striking resemblance to Hillary's Twitter profile picture.

"I'm following my leader!" reads the caption accompanied by the photo, which has over 3,000 retweets and 3,000 favorites so far.

"Well, that explains what happened to my iPad!" Hillary responded in a tweet.

In the real picture, former Secretary of State Clinton is looking at her BlackBerry, also in dark sunglasses, on a military plane with piles of documents surrounding her.

The famous photo of Hillary was first created for the viral blog account "Texts From Hillary," which included imagined conversations she had with other celebrities and world leaders. Once she launched her official Twitter account, her first tweet included the image with the caption "I'll take it from here..."

Also added to Bill Clinton's Twitter bio is "meme appropriator," in addition to "Bono impersonator" and "3-piece suit aficionado."

The Twitterverse responded generally well to the April Fools prank, with several outlets like CNN, TIME magazine, and even E! News call the photo "epic."
