The wife of As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis reportedly did not feel threatened by the front man at the time of their divorce, according to the Associated Press.
The September 2012 court documents filed in divorce proceedings indicated the split was amicable, the AP reported.
Lambesis was arrested Tuesday in a Barnes & Noble bookstore in Oceanside, Calif., for allegedly attempting to hire a hit-man to kill his estranged wife. The perceived hit-man was an undercover detective. Lambesis is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, MTV reported.
But the details behind his motive are still unclear. Meggan Lambesis did not report any concerns of feeling threatened by the singer in the divorce papers, MTV reports.
In the paperwork, Meggan mentioned a preoccupation Lambesis had with bodybuilding and how that affected their family. Documents say she was concerned about his lack of commitment to their three adopted children, whom she said he only saw for ten hours each week when he wasn't on tour.
The accused murder conspirator's band offers no more insight. Band members from As I Lay Dying posted a statement on their website Wednesday concerning the arrest of their lead vocalist:
