Lambesis, the lead vocalist and co-founder of heavy metal band As I Lay Dying was arrested Tuesday for attempt to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife. Officials picked up the celebrity in a retail business in Oceanside.

A task force from several law enforcement agencies quickly launched an investigation that led to the arrest. No other information on the case was revealed. Lambesis was booked into the Vista jail after being arrested. According to a report by LA Times, the hitman Lambesis tried to hire was an undercover sheriff's detective.

The band has released 6 albums with "Awakened," that released on September 25, 2012 being their latest. The band's website also states that they were scheduled to tour the country with several other metal bands later this month.
