Kyle McMorrow, a 36-year-old stroke survivor, sat down with CBS to discuss the warning signs people need to know about.

More than a year after recovering from a stoke at just 36 years old, Kyle McMorrow is sharing crucial warning signs so others can act fast.

In March 2023, McMorrow began his morning routine like any other day; however, he became alarmed after waking up to bad neck pain, had difficulty walking straight, and was slurring his speech.

Arriving at New York Presbyterian Hospital on the advice of his girlfriend, doctors quickly diagnosed a brain hemorrhage.

Dr. Philip Stieg Stieg revealed to CBS New York in an interview, alongside McMorrow, that the 36-year-old had suffered a "bleeding stroke," a type increasingly observed in younger individuals today.

"I truly experienced depression," McMorrow told the CBS host.

The doctor emphasized the importance of controlling factors such as cholesterol, weight, diet, exercise, sleep, and stress in stroke prevention.

Reflecting on his experience, McMorrow admitted to battling depression and fearing the loss of his abilities, including hiking and playing basketball.

After brain surgery and a year of rehabilitation, McMorrow continues to make a remarkable recovery.
