As the deadline for students to dismantle the Columbia University protest encampment expired Friday midnight (Apr. 26), some pro-Palestinian students of Columbia University have filed a federal civil rights complaint against the school, alleging that they were being discriminated against.

According to the organization Palestine Legal, they are representing four pro-Palestine students and the group Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine in a complaint filed with the United States Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights, saying that their clients have been victims of anti-Palestinian discrimination and harassment by the university's students, faculty, and administrators, CBS News reported.

The complaint further alleged the university brought in NYPD officers to arrest over 100 protesters last week as part of its alleged discriminatory treatment.

"[T]he university has failed to respond promptly and effectively to notice of a hostile environment," the complaint wrote, adding that doxxing was part of the alleged means of harassment.

Meanwhile, US Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said that his office would investigate reports of antisemitism at campuses across the country.
