Lady Rose Hanbury has finally addressed the rumors surrounding her alleged involvement with Prince William.
According to a report from Business Insider, Lady Rose Hanbury has vehemently denied the rumors, stating that they are entirely baseless, as conveyed by her legal representatives.
Lady Rose Hanbury's Lawyers Deny Affair Allegations
Hanbury's lawyers said the rumors circulating are completely false. This statement was reportedly given to Business Insider on Saturday, March 16, following the mention of the Marchioness of Cholmondeley on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Hanbury, 40, has recently gained attention due to Stephen Colbert's coverage of the affair rumors on 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' last week. Hanbury is known for being a close friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
According to Colbert on Tuesday's episode, speculation has arisen among online sleuths regarding Kate's recent absence and its possible connection to her husband, William, who is the future king of England, allegedly having an affair.
"There have been rumors of an affair between William and the Marching Band of Chicanery since 2019," Colbert said. "According to tabloids back then, when Kate supposedly confronted him about it, he laughed it off, saying there was nothing to it. Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating."
Colbert went on to use a fake British accent, mimicking Prince William and jokingly exclaiming, "Ha ha, imagine me having an affair! It is to laugh. It reminds me of a jape: Knock, knock. Who's there? Oh, it's my illegitimate son. I've knocked up my mistress."
Amid the speculation surrounding Kate Middleton's recent absence from the public eye following her surgery earlier this year, a comedian took the opportunity to mock the rumors of Prince William's alleged affair with Rose Hanbury, a rumor that has been circulating since 2019.
There has been a flurry of unfounded rumors and theories circulating on social media regarding Kate Middleton's absence from public view in recent weeks.
In a puzzling move, Prince William has chosen to remain tight-lipped about his wife's condition and her recovery from a mysterious medical issue, further fueling the flames of internet conspiracies.
Furthermore, there was a significant issue surrounding their UK Mother's Day photo featuring Kate Middleton and their three children. Photo agencies decided to remove the photo, alleging that it had been "manipulated."
However, according to Colbert, there are rumors suggesting that Middleton's recent absence from public view may be linked to her husband's alleged affair.
Who is Rose Hanbury?
Rose Hanbury has a long-standing connection to the royal family, spanning several generations.
Lady Elizabeth Lambart, the grandmother of the bride, had the honor of being one of the bridesmaids at the wedding of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1947. She has been married to David Rocksavage, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley, since 2009.
The couple resides at their family's Norfolk estate, Houghton Hall, which is conveniently located near Anmer Hall, the estate of William and Kate. The Cholmondeleys are often seen attending the same events as William and Kate, attracting the attention of photographers. They were present at Elizabeth's state funeral and later witnessed King Charles III's coronation in May 2023.
Their 15-year-old son, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, had the honor of being one of the pages at the coronation, alongside Prince George, the eldest child of William and Middleton.They have two additional children besides Oliver: Alexander Hugh, Oliver's twin, and Iris Marina Aline, who is 8 years old.
