Did the latest episode of "How I Met Your Mother" hint at a sad and tragic ending? Once again, the rumor that the Mother has died is floating around on the Internet after Monday's Mar. 3 episode. In one particular scene  - where Ted is telling another story - fans pointed out that the CBS show might have just hinted at why Ted sat his children down to tell the long but entertaining story of how he met their mother.

In the scene, which is 10 years in the future, Ted is telling the Mother about his friend's wedding.

"You're the love of my life, Pooh Bear," the Mother says. "I just worry about you. I don't want you to be the guy who lives in his stories. Life only moves forward."

He then continues his story about Robin's wedding and begins to tell her how Robin's mother unexpectedly showed up to the ceremony.

"Of course she showed up. What mother is going to miss her daughter's wedding?" the mother responds.

Ted and the Mother then pause and his eye's start to tear up. The rumor is that Ted got emotional because the Mother is going to miss her own daughter's wedding because she's dead. There have been theories that the Mother is sick and doesn't have too much longer to live.

There are only four more episodes in the season so fans won't have to wait too much longer to find out what happened. Another hint that the ending is going to be a tear-jerker is a couple of tweets the cast posted last month after they read the final script.

"Read the HIMYM series finale script on the treadmill at the gym this morning. People probably thought that was sweat in my eyes. Suckers," Josh Radnor (Ted Mosby) tweeted.

Alyson Hannigan, who plays Lily Aldrin, posted a photo of the final script and a box of tissues with the caption: "Umm. So this is how the last HIMYM Table Read went for me. #sorrytrees."

What are your theories? Is the Mother dead or going to die? Why did Ted get emotional?
