Following Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry's resignation amid heightening chaos, anti-terrorism Marines have been dispatched to Port-au-Prince to pump up security at the American embassy.

F.A.S.T known as the Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team, was called upon as gang violence continued to escalate, particularly after top gang leader Jimmy 'Barbecue' Cherizier called for a 'bloody revolution.

The tumultuous crisis pushed Henry to step down from his post as the country moves dangerously close to a civil war. The European Union is sending humanitarian aid totaling 20 million euros (21.8 million) to Haiti, reported The Daily Mail.

"An unprecedented level of gang violence is dramatically increasing humanitarian needs across the country," European Commission spokesman Balazs Ujvari said.

"The funding will help humanitarian partners to address the most urgent needs of the population, he continued.

"Street gangs who demanded the prime minister's resignation ran havoc after launching a series of attacks on police stations, prisons, and against Haitian civilians.

On Tuesday, Kenya recanted its plans to send a multinational police mission, backed by the United Nations, to help stabilize the country.

More discord has led to a Republican congressman facilitating the evacuation of 10 US citizens who were working at the Have Faith Orphanage in Port-au-Prince.

Florida GOP Rep. Cory Mills accused the Biden administration of continuing a 'pattern of abandonment' when involving US citizens.

"This mission reiterates a disturbing reality under President Biden's leadership: American lives are continually jeopardized," Mills said.

"I have led missions to rescue Americans multiple times when Joe Biden has deserted them."

"There's a clear pattern of abandonment,' Mills said, citing his rescue missions in Afghanistan during the chaotic 2021 withdrawal.

The US Southern Command revealed that F.A.S.T  reached the embassy in Port-au-Prince.

"US Southern Command is prepared with a wide range of contingency plans to ensure the safety and security of U.S. citizens in Haiti," US Southern Command added.

The embassy remains open under limited operations.
