Monica Lewinsky - the writer and activist who became famous for being involved in a scandal by former US President Bill Clinton when she was still a White House intern - has collaborated with fashion brand Reformation and 501(c)(3) nonprofit Vote.org for the brand's "You've Got the Power" campaign.

The clothing line would feature workwear and would be considered a call to action for Americans to vote for November's presidential election.

"Another faceless brand telling you to vote isn't going to cut through, so they teamed up with someone iconic who would," a press release announcing the launch read. "As a changemaker and activist, Monica has been advocating for women to use their voices and embrace their power for decades."

The collection would include blazers, skirts, and dresses, among others, ABC News reported. As part of the campaign, Lewinsky, Reformation, and Vote.org created a one-stop hub with voter information and would donate proceeds from the You've Got the Power sweatshirt to the organization.

In an interview published on Monday (Feb. 26) in Elle magazine, Lewinsky said that the partnership was in response to increased voter frustration and apathy in the lead-up to November.

"We all have to be reminding each other that we can't let that get in the way of needing to vote, that that's how we use our voice," she said. "That's where our power is."

Slaying Fashionable Advocacy

It could be recalled that Clinton admitted to having an affair with Lewinsky when she was a White House intern during his presidency in the late 90s. She has since worked as an anti-bullying advocate, referring to herself as "patient zero" of online harassment in reference to the widespread public shaming she faced in the wake of the affair.

Lewinsky later launched the #DefyTheName campaign in 2018 and 2017's #ClickWithCompassion campaign to align with National Bullying Prevention Month and earned a master's degree in social psychology from the London School of Economics.

"While Ref knows that a powerful outfit alone isn't going to create a more perfect union, putting it on and going to the polls is a damn good place to start," the press release added. "Together with Monica Lewinsky and Vote.org, we're reminding you that you've got the power. And that you need to vote this year."

Lewinsky was photographed for the campaign in a variety of looks, including the brand's Veda Ashland Leather Trench, a black belted Mikol Knit Dress, and a polka-dotted georgette Lysander Dress. She was also snapped wearing the tailored Caiden Two Piece skirt set, styled with a light blue pinstripe button-down and a dark tie, and the brand's Classic Relaxed Blazer.

"Voting is using your voice to be heard, and it's the most defining aspect of our democracy," Lewinsky was quoted on Reformation's website in the launch of the clothing line.
