American media mogul Kim Kardashian is the latest celebrity to purchase the popular Tesla Cybertruck. But, she bought the electric pickup truck while many owners are concerned regarding the rusting and corroding issues.

On Tuesday, Feb. 20, the reality-star-turned-mogul boasted her Tesla Cybertruck via her official Instagram Story post. She typed the caption "Cool Carpool Mom."

This is the second time that Kim posted the Cybertruck. Her previous IG post was published before the Super Bowl. But, it wasn't clear if she already purchased the electric pickup truck during that time.

US media personality Kim Kardashian arrives for the 2023 Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles, California, on November 11, 2023. This year's gala honors Mexican-US actress Salma Hayek Pinault.

According to Business Insider's latest report, Kim Kardashian's spokesperson hasn't confirmed if she really bought a Tesla Cybertruck of her own.

But, there's a high chance that she really owns one now since the Tesla Cybertruck, which costs between $60,000 to $99,990, is not that expensive compared to the cars she has.

These include Kim Kardashian's custom-painted Lamborghini Urus (more than $237,800) and her favorite Maybach Sedan (over $193,400). However, Elon Musk said that the Tesla Cybertruck is considered an exclusive EV.

The Tesla CEO confirmed this after announcing that they will only sell 200,000 to 250,000 Cybertruck units yearly until 2025. As of writing, the billionaire hasn't confirmed if this yearly sales capacity will increase after 2025.

Now, if Kim Kardashian really purchased a Tesla Cybertruck, will be it worth it given that the electric pickup truck is facing corroding and rusting issues?

Newly manufactured Tesla Cybertrucks are parked outside the company's Giga Texas factory on December 13, 2023, in Austin, Texas.

Many Tesla Cybertruck owners are complaining about the rusting and corroding issues they experienced after purchasing the electric pickup truck, as reported by CBS News.

Among the Cybertruck owners who experienced these problems is Will, who documented the corrosion of his EV. He said that just 11 days after the purchase, he began noticing rust marks on his Cybertruck.

Aside from Will, another Cybertruck owner named Raxar said that he experienced the same issue.

"The adviser specifically mentioned the cybertrucks develop orange rust marks in the rain and that required the vehicle to be buffed out," explained Raxar.

Since more and more Cybertruck owners started becoming concerned about the rusting and corrosion issues, Tesla Cybertruck engineer Wes Morrill decided to address their concerns.

"Stainless is reactive and free iron that sits on it will rust. It's surface contamination only and can be cleaned off easily," said the Tesla staff.

Morrill explained that the rusting is happening possibly because of the metal particles that attach to the Cybertruck units when they are being transported via railway.

He added that these metal particles could also come from the factory where the Tesla Cybertruck vehicles are being manufactured.

Since Morrill clarified that the rusting issue can easily be cleaned by Cybertruck owners, then Kim Kardashian has nothing to worry about.
