The rise of AI is still being debated by experts and workers who are concerned that the technology will replace them in their jobs.

Some individuals are not happy with the arrival of AI chatbots and other systems, saying that they pose serious risks to their jobs.

People who are against artificial intelligence are those working in the writing industry, film-making sector, and other creative industries.

Now, it looks like artificial intelligence is entering the content creation industry as experts warned that AIs could replace human online influencers.

Will AI Replace Human Online Influencers? Experts Say Yes

Business Insider reported that AI content creators (also known as virtual influencers) are not rising in numbers, especially on Instagram. One of the first AI online influencers is Lil Miquela.

After this virtual content creator became popular, it was followed by other artificial intelligence models, such as Aitana Lopez and Noonoouri.

One of the main reasons behind their success is that AI content influencers can cut costs and increase visibility for various consumer brands.

"We were taken aback by the skyrocketing rates influencers charge nowadays," said The Clueless Diana Nunez.

For those who are not familiar with The Clueless, it is the AI modeling firm that created Aitana Lopez.

Nunez explained that what inspired them to start creating AI content creators is to provide cheaper options for human online influencers, who usually have steep rates when promoting products.

AI Online Influencers Come With Benefits, Consequences

Numerous experts said that AI online influencers can offer various benefits for brands and consumers. One of the main things that companies can take advantage of is the cheap rates charged by developers behind these AI content creators.

Another benefit that AI influencers offer is that they are less likely (almost 0% chance) of getting caught in a controversy since they can easily be controlled, as reported by Ars Technica.

Aside from these, AI content creators can also be adjusted easily to fit the demands of consumers. For example, if they want to see an LGBTQ promoter for their brand, AI companies can create a trans or bi-sexual AI content creator.

However, there are also consequences. As the U.S., the U.K., and other countries make efforts to launch restrictions for AI systems, virtual content creators could face serious limitations.

Another issue with AI content creators is that they can't create "real" connections or relationships with their audiences, unlike human influencers.

This can be seen in the comments made by Instagram users on IG posts of Aitana Lopez and other AI content creators. Some people say that no matter how good these artificial intelligence fashion models are, they will never be real humans.

Meanwhile, others are happy that some of these AI online influencers are losing followers and their accounts are finally plummeting.
