US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky looks on during a meeting in New York on September 25, 2019, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Zelenskyy said that he's inviting the former U.S. president to Ukraine so he can explain to him why he can't bring peace to the European country.

Based on Zelenskyy's statements, his visit invitation seems to be a challenge to ex-POTUS.

Zelenskyy Challenges Trump To Visit Ukraine

The New York Post reported that Zelenskyy extended an invitation to Donald Trump. Before the Ukrainian president invited the former POTUS, Trump had been claiming he could end the war between Ukraine and Russia in just 24 hours.

However, Zelenskyy said that he would disabuse the notion of Donald Trump. He said that Trump thinks he can end the Russia-Ukraine war in 24 hours.

Zelenskyy added that if the ex-POTUS really thinks so, then he is very welcome, as reported by NBC News.

Volodymyr explained that U.S. President Joe Biden already visited Ukraine numerous times, and he thinks Biden already understands things that can only be understood by those who are in the country.

"I invite President Trump if he can come here. I will need 24 minutes...to explain [to] President Trump that he can't manage this war, that he can't bring peace because of Putin," said the Ukrainian leader.

"If he's not ready to give our territory for this terrible man. If you're not ready to give our independence...he's very welcome," added Zelenskyy.

After inviting Donald Trump, Zelenskyy said that ever since the former American president department the White House, he hasn't had any contact with him.

Because of this, Volodymyr explained that he doesn't know if Donald Trump would support Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stands for the Ukrainian national anthem during a rally with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Fort York on September 22, 2023 in Toronto, Canada. Zelensky visited Canada for the first time in person since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, ending a North American trip that started with a visit to the U.S.

While Zelenskyy thinks that Donald Trump can't bring peace to Ukraine, he thanked Joe Biden for his support.

The Ukrainian leader said he thinks Joe Biden is a very strong man, even calling him "a hero."

Ever since Russia decided to invade Ukraine, the U.S. government has been releasing humanitarian and military aid to the affected country.

It is estimated that the United States already spent over $113 billion just to assist Ukraine. Although this budget hasn't been completely used, Biden is asking for an additional $61.4 billion for Ukraine.

This is a part of a sprawling $106 billion supplementary request, which the House of Representatives has opposed.
