Ten years and counting after the release of Grand Theft Auto 5, Rockstar Games has announced it would feature Joe Rogan and his podcast in GTA 6 without satirical alterations.

Gamers have anxiously anticipated the release of the latest Grand Theft Auto game for years since the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) in 2013.

With reports claiming Rockstar Games would release the game by 2024, fans have speculated they would see former UFC commentator, stand-up comedian, and podcaster Joe Rogan in the game, even if as a satire as the case of the whole game franchise.

However, Rogan might be featured in the new GTA game as he is in real life.

IRL Joe Rogan on GTA 6?

According to a source, who told Audioviser on the condition of anonymity, Rockstar would incorporate Rogan's podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," into the game.

While details of how the incorporation would be done are still kept under wraps, the source said players would be able to tune into a radio station that would feature select clips of the podcast's episodes in the game.

As for fan reactions, it was a mixed bag. Some saw this as a step in the right direction for realism, others believe the podcast has no place in the GTA franchise.

It was reported that the inclusion of real-world content like JRE suggested that game developers were actively looking for innovative ways to bring more realism to the gaming universe.

Should GTA 6 succeed in the hearts and minds of its fans and players, as well as in the pockets of those who profit from the game, it would revolutionize the way collaborations between popular media figures and game studios and franchises.

Dr. Dre Was on GTA 5 Before

Such a stunt was not the first time a real-life celebrity rendered his voice and persona into the franchise. Rapper and music producer Dr. Dre was featured in the GTA 5 parallel game called GTA Online, specifically in the 2021 free downloadable content (DLC) "The Contract," where his name, image, and likeness were developed in the game.

In the story surrounding the DLC, Franklin Clinton, one of the three protagonists in the vanilla story timeline, and his friend Lamar Davis would task an unnamed character controlled by the player to find, track, and recover Dr. Dre's phone where three of his unreleased tracks were stored.
