Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s Instagram account has been reinstated amid the launch of his presidential bid for the approaching 2024 US elections.

The anti-vaccine activist formally declared his bid to run for the 2024 Democratic primary last April.

HOLLYWOOD, CA - APRIL 21: President of the Board of Waterkeeper Alliance Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks on stage at the Keep It Clean Comedy Benefit for Waterkeeper Alliance at Avalon on April 21, 2016 in Hollywood, California.

As per a report by Reuters, the social media giant, Insta, has reinstated the personal account of Kennedy Jr., roughly two years after the social media giant kicked him out of the service.

The Mark Zuckerberg-owned social network banned the account of the anti-vaccine activist due to a violation of its COVID-19 policy. He was kicked out last February 2021 due to the spread of misinformation, which is against the policies of the photo and video-sharing service.

During his banning, the Instagram parent said that Kennedy "repeatedly [shared] debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines."

Democrats have also slammed Kennedy for spreading false information about the coronavirus vaccine. After a brief hiatus from the platform, Kennedy Jr. is back on Instagram. The decision to reinstate the anti-vaccine activist comes at a critical moment, as he has officially launched his campaign for a White House seat.

According to CNN, Meta spokesperson for Instagram, Andy Stone, confirms that they "have restored access to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s Instagram account." He further explained that the anti-vaccine advocate is "now an active candidate for president of the United States." And because of this, the Facebook parent decided to bring him back to the platform.

The Hill reports that Kennedy took to the Elon Musk-owned service, Twitter, last week to disclose that his campaign team could have been more successful in creating an Instagram account.

He then slammed Meta. The anti-vaccine activist says, "To silence a major political candidate is profoundly undemocratic." Kennedy, the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, adds, "How can democracy function if only some candidates have access to it?"

Meta says it has "quickly fixed" the issue preventing Kennedy's campaign from setting up an Instagram account. And on top of that, the anti-vaccine advocate is now back in the service.

BERLIN, GERMANY - AUGUST 29: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nephew of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, speaks to people from a wide spectrum, including coronavirus skeptics, conspiracy enthusiasts, right-wing extremists, religious conservatives, hippies and others gathered under the Victory Column in the city center to hear speeches during a protest against coronavirus-related restrictions and government policy on August 29, 2020 in Berlin, Germany.

Kennedy launched his presidential bid, competing with other Republicans, such as former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, for the 2024 race.

The ex-Twitter boss, Dorsey, is seemingly backing the presidential bid of Kennedy. The BlueSky founder tweeted a YouTube video, which goes by the title "Robert F. Kennedy. Jr. argues he can beat Trump and DeSantis in 2024."

Besides sharing what appears to be an endorsement of his fellow Bitcoin advocate, Dorsey also declared that Kennedy "can and will" crush DeSantis and Trump.
