Timothy Parlatore, a key attorney defending Donald Trump in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents probe, had departed the former president's legal team.

On Tuesday, Trump's inner circle confirmed Parlatore's resignation, according to CNN. His important departure coincides with the apparent conclusion of special counsel Jack Smith's probe into possible misuse of top secret materials.

Parlatore conveyed in a statement his sincere gratitude for the chance to work with and solve challenging legal problems. The lawyer made it clear that his choice to depart is personal and shouldn't be regarded as having anything to do with the case.

Additionally, Parlatore stated he spoke with Donald Trump personally about leaving the legal team.

Throughout the continuing investigation being conducted by special counsel Jack Smith of the Justice Department, Timothy Parlatore has been crucial in defending Donald Trump. The main focus of the inquiry is the finding of multiple sensitive papers at Trump's Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, as well as any possible obstructive tactics.

Several Donald Trump associates have testified before a grand jury in recent months. Federal prosecutors effectively overcame the attorney-client privilege in March and questioned M. Evan Corcoran, another one of Trump's attorneys, in front of the grand jury, as per a report from the LA Times.

In his testimony in December, Timothy Parlatore voluntarily shared important details about efforts to find classified materials in response to government requests.
