Fans are just moments away from witnessing LeBron James make history by becoming the NBA's all-time scoring leader.

LeBron James is closing in on the record for most points scored in NBA history as he delivered 26 points and 11 assists in Thursday's 112-111 victory against the Pacers.

Now that the game is in the record books, James needs only 63 points to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's current career point total of 38,325 points, according to The Spun.

The 38-year-old forward has scored 30.1% of his team's points. If he maintains this performance on February 9 against the Bucks, he will set the historic LeBron James NBA scoring record.

Since April 1984, Kareem Abdul Jabbar has held the record of having the most career points in NBA history, so that it will be eclipsed. LeBron James' NBA scoring record will be achieved with consistency and longevity, something no one could have predicted.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar has anticipated this moment. Before the Lakers-Knicks game, the basketball legend sent a message to LeBron James, Clutch Points reported.

"I've been carrying the torch as the record holder for 38 years. I'm excited and relieved to pass it along to the next worthy recipient. LeBron earned it, and I hope he carries it even longer than I did," Kareem said.

Soaring Ticket Prices

LeBron James' NBA scoring record is likely to happen on February 7 or 9 when he plays the Milwaukee Bucks. According to CBS News, the tickets to the Lakers' historic night at Crypto.com Arena, where both games will be played, will be costly.

Ticket seller Vivid Seats reports that the average price for Tuesday's Lakers game versus the Thunder, where LeBron James' NBA scoring record might be made, has soared to $1,152, a whopping 390% increase from the opening day of the 2022-23 season. At this time, the lowest "get-in" fee to see the event is $326.

The Bucks game on Thursday will be more expensive because of its national broadcast. The current "get in" fee is $357, up 175% from the start of the season, while the average ticket has risen to $1,302.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar, widely known for his Sky Hook shot, played for the Bucks and the Lakers throughout his 20-year career.
