One theory claimed that a body double was the one that appeared in public, and the "real" Damar Hamlin had already passed away.

There have been claims that Damar Hamlin has a body double and that the actual one has already died, but Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has shot them down.

Damar Hamlin went back to the stadium to see a playoff game on January 22, 2023, weeks after he collapsed at an NFL game and ended up in the hospital for cardiac arrest.

For the first time in public since his medical emergency, Hamlin appeared at a game wearing red clothing, a sweatshirt over his head, a mask, and glasses. However, there were many internet suspicions that he wasn't really there and it was a Damar Hamlin body double, per Snopes.

One Damar Hamlin conspiracy theory claim that someone else was filling in for him after the "real" Hamlin had passed away as a result of the COVID-19 vaccination.

Josh Allen Shoots Down Damar Hamlin 'Body Double' Rumors

Josh Allen of the Bills made an appearance on Kyle Brandt's Basement Podcast. Brandt, around halfway through the episode, inquired of Allen on the latest Hamlin rumor circulating the depths of the internet.
Allen gave a straightforward response: "That's stupid."

A little more information on Hamlin's comeback was provided by the two-time Pro Bowler, saying that Damar Hamlin was in the locker room before and after the contest. Additionally, he verified that it was Hamlin who the team let inside the locker room, and not a Damar Hamlin body double.

"He was with us pregame, postgame, he was up in the suite with his family, with his little brother, 100 percent," Josh Allen said, per Sporting News. Hamlin has also used social media to announce his impending return.

Damar Hamlin is a member of the Buffalo Bills defensive back unit, the safety unit, which lines up 10-15 yards behind the offensive line. Last year, he spent most of his time in reserve, per NDTV.
