The mother of missing Ana Walshe will request official information from the United States on her daughter's disappearance.

The mother of a Massachusetts woman who has been missing since New Year's Day and whose husband is accused of murder will seek the United States for official information concerning her daughter's disappearance, according to the Serbian Foreign Ministry.

The mother of Ana Walshe, Milanka Ljubicic, made a formal request to obtain case documents as next of kin, according to a ministry statement.

The ministry noted that the request has been addressed to the Consulate of Serbia in New York and will be sent to the appropriate US authorities. Brian Walshe, 47, has been charged with murder in the missing corpse of 39-year-old Ana Walshe. The couple, who now has custody of their three young children, resided in the wealthy seaside village of Cohasset, some 15 miles southeast of Boston.

Per CBS News, authorities say Ana Walshe was last seen leaving their house in the early hours of January 1, ostensibly to take a ride-hailing car to Logan International Airport for a trip to Washington.

However, authorities have uncovered no evidence that she took a car or a flight out of Logan. According to investigators, she was reported missing on January 4 by her employer in Washington, where the pair resides and where she frequently goes to work at a real estate business.

Prosecutors stated earlier this week that Brian Walshe used his son's iPad to research methods for dismembering and disposing of a body and that objects containing Ana Walshe's DNA were discovered at a garbage processing business.

Additionally, officials discovered bloody garbage bags, a hatchet, a hacksaw, a rug, and used cleaning products. Prosecutor Lynn Beland stated in court that one of the searches Walshe performed early on New Year's Day was "10 methods to dispose of a corpse if you need to."

The disappearance of Walshe has been keenly watched in her home in Serbia, where her mother still resides. Ljubicic has stated to local media that she cannot think her son-in-law would hurt her daughter.

According to Fox News, officials accused Brian Walshe on Wednesday of killing his wife and then exhuming and unlawfully transporting her remains. The convicted art forger was also charged with deceiving the police inquiry earlier this month for allegedly providing false information and concealing facts about his location.

During the hearing on Wednesday, Walshe submitted a not-guilty plea. He was ordered to be kept without bond and is due in court on February 9.

Ana Walshe Case Update

Ana Walshe, a real estate executive with Tishman Speyer, was due to depart for Washington, DC, on January 3, but she reportedly claimed an emergency compelled her to go there early. Someone matching Brian Walsh's description was purportedly observed discarding trash bags at an apartment complex, which were later collected and cremated.

However, seasoned legal experts have warned the public against leaping to conclusions and questioned if the evidence against Brian Walshe is sufficient to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Ljubicic stated earlier this month that her daughter begged her to fly from Serbia to see only one week before she disappeared.

When police went to the Walshe residence, they observed that Brian Walshe's Volvo had been meticulously cleaned. When questioned, he stated that he had discarded the plastic liner observed the previous day.

He visited the dumpster near his mother's residence on the same day. Walshe was detained on January 8 for deceiving the police. The cops secured a search warrant for the home and uncovered blood traces in the basement. They also discovered a knife with blood on it, according to Daily Mail.

The police then examined the dumpster near his mother's residence and discovered ten blood-stained garbage bags. Within, they observed:

  • Slippers containing both Ana and Brian's DNA.
  • Rags, tape, and a medical outfit containing Brian and Ana's DNA.
  • The Hunter boots worn by Ana
  • Ana's Prada handbag
  • Her COVID-19 vaccination card, with her name
  • A hacksaw
  • Hatchet
  • Snipping shears
