China recently launched one of its 'hypersonic aircraft carrier killer' missiles in reaction to the reported Nancy Pelosi trip to Taiwan. A video showed a DF-17 ultra-fast missile that Chinese experts said can turn the USA's most powerful warships to scrap.

Ultrasonic Missiles Shake Up the US Navy

According to a military analyst, adversaries will be powerless to stop it, as it is undetectable and capable of mobile launching in a major threat to its targets, noted Global Times.

The hypersonic aircraft carrier killer reaches supersonic++ speeds and approaches targets in an uncontrolled descent, and the US military is powerless to halt it.

This missile poses a threat to the northeast Asian region, the Taiwan Strait, and the length of the South China Sea. This impacts the US reliance on slow carrier strike groups that are left in the PLA rocket force's sights, reported Sputnik News.

The Maritime Safety Administration advised ships to stay away from the area on Saturday from 8 am to 9 pm. On July 29 and 30, Beijing also conducted naval drills in the South China Sea, citing Benar News.

Taiwan, which has been under independent governance ever since the late 1940s, is regarded by China as a sovereign territory. Beijing vehemently opposes any formal recognition of Taiwan, including foreign dignitaries' visits.
