FOX's Batman prequel "Gotham" has gained five new actors for their cast!

Variety reports Robin Lord Taylor will play Penguin (also known as Oswald Cobblepot), Ben McKenzie will take on the role of a young Commissioner Gordon, Sean Pertwee as Bruce Wayne's beloved butler Alfred Pennyworth and Erin Richards will play Barbara Kean, the fiancée of Detective Gordon.  The series also welcomes Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Detective Gordon's boss at the Gotham City Police Department Homicide Squad.

"Bruno Heller penned the pilot script for 'Gotham,' which explores the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham famous. A young Bruce Wayne has yet to be cast, though Fox topper Kevin Reilly hinted that he will be featured in the drama. Project currently has a series commitment at Fox," Variety reports.

According to Hitfix, "Gotham" is also set to feature a young Bruce Wayne, along with the Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler, and the Penguin.

"We see Detective Gordon, before he's a commissioner, all the characters you know, Bruce Wayne, the Penguin, all of them. It's Gotham teetering on the edge, and we see what makes these characters become who they are, [like] Catwoman. It's an operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality to it," FOX Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly said during a press conference for the show in January.

Reily added Wayne would begin as a child in the beginning of the series about 12-years-old, but the his age isn't set in stone.  However, the show is a Batman prequel, so when Wayne puts on the infamous batsuit, it's over.  FOX has not confirmed when the series is set to air.

"This is all of the classic Batman characters," Reilly told Entertainment Weekly. "It follows the arc of how they all became what they were. I've read the script its really good."
