Huy Fong Foods will host tours of its factory to celebrate the recommencing of the company's Sriracha hot sauce distribution.

"After many months of transitioning from Rosemead and testing our new equipment, we are pleased to announce that we are now ready to invite visitors to our new building in Irwindale," representatives from the company wrote in an invitation letter sent to a small group of Sriracha enthusiasts.

Huy Fung Foods' product shipments were temporarily halted, after residents of the Southern California city of Irwindale took up issue with the factory's pungent scent. Some said the smell of hot, spicy peppers caused itchy throats, tearing eyes and sometimes, asthma attacks.

But now, that hiatus is over, and it seems Huy Fung is celebrating, according to LAist.com.

"If you are interested in seeing how our Sriracha is made and how delicious it smells, we would cordially like to invite you...to see our facility during our regular office visiting hours," the letter said.

Huy Fung Foods lawyers battled against the citizens of Irwindale for months. The hot sauce company was ultimately placed on a holding period. Reps from the corporation argued that the Sriracha recipe calls for fresh chiles only, which inevitably carries a much more fragrant smell than frozen or dried peppers.

Sriracha buffs erupted with backlash at the prospect of a so-called "Srirachapocalypse," asking the city of Irwindale to ease up on legal action.
