European Union (EU) Chief negotiator Michael Barnier has pointed out during a meeting in Brussels that UK has less than a couple of years to discuss its impending exit from the group. He cautions that more time will be needed for the approval of the bill not only in Britain but among European country-members.

According to UK Prime Minister Theresa May, it is her intention to implement the Article 50 agreement in order to officially commence the two-year withdrawal deadline from the organization. However, Barnier counsels that the possibility of stretching the schedule is likely to happen if Britain wants to beat the October 2018 deadline.

The Chief negotiator has also downplayed England's plan to choose among the components of a single market approach, citing that all elements are interconnected. This access method carries with it the free flow of goods, services, labor and capital.

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany has reiterated what Barnier has raised. During a conference for the Christian Democratic Party in Essen, the lady politician has barred any option to select among the given factors.

During the course of the negotiations, Barnier has laid out the terms that go against the Brexit imposition. Primarily, the 27-member nations of the Union will stay together, Second, no discussion will occur prior to UK's imposition of Article 50. Next, Brexit will never be a better option than being in the EU. Lastly, full market access will be denied to Britain if it closes its doors from immigrants.

Meanwhile, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson seems not to be wary about the deadline, commenting that 18 months is a lot of time. He believes that around that period, a mutually-beneficial accord will be reached between the EU and UK.

So far, the May administration has not shared its outline for the Brexit negotiations. The Prime Minister has been hesitant to do so since it will provide the EU enough ammunition to repel Britain's departure from the Union.

Meanwhile, the opposition Labour Party wants the government to unveil its negotiating approach. However, no disclosure will happen if the process will hurt UK during the negotiations.
