The Beverly Hills Police Department is reportedly investigating Kanye West, after a man came forward with allegations that the artist attacked him this week.
Kim Kardashian and fiance Kanye were reportedly meeting up for an appointment on Monday, according to an unidentified source close to Kardashian who spoke with People.com. As Kim walked up to the building where Kanye was waiting inside, a man held the door open for her, then allegedly began shouting racial slurs at paparazzi nearby. He turned on Kardashian after she told him that his comments were "not cool."
The source told People.com that the 33-year-old mother of one became "seriously afraid for her life. He was going nuts."
According to TMZ.com, the man reportedly yelled, "I will kill you, slut," at Kim, then called her a "n----- lover."
When 36-year-old West showed up to meet his wife-to-be, the man dove into a neighboring chiropractor's office. The duo followed him, and, according to People, that's when Kanye reportedly hit the man.
"The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses," BHPD wrote in a statement published by People. "Mr. West had left the location prior to officers' arrival."
Beverly Hills detectives are opening a follow-up investigation for the event.
Meanwhile, Kardashian reportedly has plans to file a police report against the man for making criminal threats, according to Newsday. Sources said she's already met with her legal representation.
Kanye still has charges for criminal battery and attempted grand theft against him, after he allegedly tried to steal a photog's camera at the Los Angeles International Airport in July. West has pleaded guilty for that event, saying that he acted in self-defense. If he's found guilty, he could receive a jail sentence up to one year.
