Arsenal (14-3-3) sits third in the Premier League standings, just two points behind No. 1 Manchester City. Arsene Wenger's men have won their last three matches in the Premier League and are coming off a 2-0 win on Jan. 4 against Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup.
The club may see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the pitch soon.
"I would have no hesitation (to play Oxlade-Chamberlain)," Wenger said, via IB Times. "I don't know yet. The most important thing is that he played [in an U-21 game] and came through it well.
"We'll see how he is but he's been out for five months. It takes some time to play in the Premier League. It's good to have him back."
Aston Villa (6-5-9), meanwhile, is 11th in the Premier League with 23 points. After losing four straight Premier League matches and drawing once, Aston Villa handed Sunderland a 1-0 loss on Jan. 1. Villa, however, is coming off a 2-1 loss to Sheffield United in the third round of the FA Cup.
After defeating Arsenal in August, Aston Villa is confident they stand a chance to do it again on Monday.
"The opportunity is there to try to go and win a second game against them," Villa boss Paul Lambert said. "Looking back at the stick after the first game, I'm pretty sure Arsene is laughing about it now. The team is excellent and we have to try to compete with them. We did it once and we have to try to do it again.
"If you let them settle and let them play, then they can hurt you."
