Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim's Mike Trout is headlining the MLB trade rumors today. After winning the American League MVP award this year, he is rumored to be moving to the New York Yankees and seems to be heading to the team this offseason.

MLB's Yankees, which is active exploring the market this offseason, is looking for valuable asset(s) that could make their lineup more formidable next year and forget their frustrating showing this 2016. Having won the World Series 27 times, they are expected to be in the MLB postseason every year. But next year, many says that they are in a rebuilding mode and it is evident with their recent moves.

They have traded away most of their veterans consists of Aroldis Chapman, Ivan Nova, Carlos Beltran, and Andrew Miller hinting that they are going for youth this time for their long term plans. And it seems that the 25-year old Trout is included in their plans for the future.

According to ChattSportNet, the New York Yankees are making one more move to enhance their roster and they are pushing to acquire Mike Trout from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The bold move indicates that the Yankees are too serious to reclaim the title they've won seven years ago.

This recent report on MLB trade further noted that the Angels seems to be not ready for the playoffs this season and might be better off without Trout. Aside from Trout, the Yankees are also looking to add Chicago White Sox third baseman Todd Frazier and Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Vince Velasquez, as reported earlier. 

As reported by iSportsTimes, now that the Yankees are determined to invest in the youth and trade away some of their veteran players, it makes sense now to chase Trout and try to lure him to join them. Trout who started as a nobody made a name for his himself being on the Angels for 5 years.

But it added that this could be a long shot for the Yankees as the Angels are seemed not inclined to move Trout and they are committed to him all the way. And if there is one thing that the Angels get's going every year, that's because Trout is there to lead them.
