Rumors are skyrocketing right after Rockstar Games recently made official confirmations on the much-anticipated sequel to the "Red Dead Redemption" game franchise. But attention is also diverting towards the ever-popular "Grand Theft Auto" series with the possibility of its sixth main installment.

GTA 6 moved to 2020

As per recent reports, there are huge speculations that Grand Theft Auto 6 may have been temporarily shelved since GTA V is still receiving much hype, and the game developers are currently focused on "Red Dead Redemption 2." Instead of the predicted 2018 official launch right after RDR2's arrival in 2017, the official release date might be moved to 2020.

Rockstar will have 2 branches working on their games

Fans should not be too worried as the Rockstar apparently has very large divisions for each of these game titles. According to some credible sources, RDR2 is going to be handled by Rockstar San Diego while the impending GTA 6 has been rumored to be handled by the guys at Rockstar North, similar to its GTA V predecessor. Since there will be two different branches working on these projects, the games will not be interfering with each other.

Will it be a woman this time?

Meanwhile, content-wise, there have been speculations that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be having a female lead character. It can be reviewed that during the course of the entire GTA franchise, girls have been featured in some important roles but never on a central one. Additionally, there are also rumors about some new locations which will be a lot more exotic compared to the former iteration of the game. With the majority of the cities in the game are parts of the United States, suggestions have been brewing regarding different places around the world will also be included.

Rumors will remain rumors until proven otherwise

Since Rockstar has remained quiet about their moves, especially on their plans for GTA 6, these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. As of now, let's just enjoy what these speculations can offer us and wait for future announcements by Rockstar.
