A Colorado sushi restaurant is offering marijuana pairings for its dinner menu.
Hapa Sushi is cashing in on the state's recreational marijuana legalization by adding a spread of pot strains to go along with its Pakalolo Shrimp, Poke Don and other entrees.
The restaurant, which has four locations in the Denver-Boulder area, now offers choices of Sour OG, Blue Dream and Platinum Cookies marijuana for consumption with either Honey Miso Salmon, Katsu Curry, or sashimi, according to the menu, marked "January 2014."
According to Ad Age, the restaurant plans to run advertisements in local newspapers alerting locals of the new menu additions. Hapa Sushi will also put placards on patrons' tables that show conversation topics customers might have while consuming marijuana, which is now available for legal sale for of-age residents.
This isn't the first time Hapa Sushi has publicly supported looser weed legislation and social acceptance of the plant - in 2009, the restaurant teamed up with agency TDA Boulder to produce advertisements that showed all dispensaries in the Denver area.
The new menu also informed customers that the layout of the dining room was "ergonomically designed to reduce paranoia," to create a more welcoming environment for smokers.
