Whereas Steven Avery just requested his supporters to respect his engagement with Lynn Hartman last week stating that they are very much in love and that is not going to change anytime soon, nine days later, however, Avery broke off the engagement.

Sandra Greenman, Avery's friend and ex-fiancee, confirmed that Avery and Lynn are officially over in Facebook as per MSN. Writing on the behalf of Avery, Greenman posted, "I have a statement that I need to passed around to groups. Steve called me two times tonight and wants everyone to know that Lynn and him are done."

Greenman further shared that Avery called Hartman a golddigger and the latter's questionable intentions had led the former to end their relationship.

"She has been in this relationship for money and publicity. His eyes are finally opened!!! Lynn received at least $5,000 from Dr. Phil, and he thinks more. She got another $1,000 for doing other shows. She also wanted to be on as many as possible. His words -- she is a golddigger," Avery's ex-fiancee wrote.

The media outlet further reported that Hartman had been a problem for Avery's family and friends since the beginning. An admin of the official family Facebook group shared, "She started this media frenzy, and she's gotten money from all these different outlets. But she has blocked his [Avery] calls and she claims on 'Dr. Phil' that he's not calling her."

As per the report of The Inquistr, Avery and Hartman met only once at the Wisconsin facility and had been writing letters and sending text messages ever since, leading to their unconventional romantic escapade and eventually, Avery proposing marriage to Hartman.

The Making a Murderer star earlier told to Dr. Phil in a taped interview, as per Inquisitr, "I haven't been in love my whole life. It's not the same as the others. Everything is all different with her. I want to wait until I'm out [to marry] and I don't think that'll be too long."

Whereas Avery's love life might not have turned according to his favor, the same thing could not be said with his current imprisonment. With his nephew, Brendan Dassey, recently overturning his conviction, Avery is likely to get justice soon after wrongfully accused of the murder of Teresa Halbach in 2005.

Along with these developments in both personal and legal life of Avery, Making a Murderer Season 2 is likely to explore new evidence, witnesses, and suspects in order to prove Avery's innocence. Furthermore, Avery also brought Kathleen Zellner to lead his legal team.
