Justin Bieber Criticized For Hoping Anne Frank Was A Belieber

Justin Bieber was slammed by Twitter and Facebook users for a recent comment he made about hoping Anne Frank was a Belieber.

Bieber is used to finding himself in hot waters when he least expects its. Such was the case when the "Baby" singer visited the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam Friday, during a visit to the Dutch city on his European concert tour.

What caught the attention of all was the comment that he wrote in the guest book saying, "Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber." The comment was later posted on the Internet on the Anne Frank House's Facebook page.

Among the Facebook slams at Bieber was this one: "Way to turn an inspiring moment into something about yourself."

Another critic penned, "Unbelievable ... very self-serving and completely missed the lesson in front of him. Shows his complete lack of maturity."

The comment not only created an uproar among Facebook users but also enraged Twitter users. The post received more than 1,300 comments in a few hours.

"What is wrong with Bieber?! When I was 19, absolutely everything I said was thoughtful considered and intelligent. Like all of us, right?" tweeted a user.

"Anne Frank's ghost haunts Justin Bieber, hovers high above his bed, leans down & whispers in his ear, 'I would've been a Juggalo,'" a tweet read.

Museum spokeswoman Maatje Mostart was quick to defend the young star to BBC, "He's 19. It's a crazy life he's living, he didn't mean bad... and also it's nice that he made the effort, he didn't have to come."
