Police Arrest Woman For Stalking, Throwing Electric Razor At Hugh Jackman

Police arrested a woman stalker for approaching Hugh Jackman with an electric razor at a New York gym, early Saturday, according to Reuters.

A 47-year old woman named Katherine Thurston was reportedly stalking Australian actor, Jackman, for some time before she approached the star at his gym in New York with an electric razor filled with various hair clippings, police officials said on Sunday.

She reportedly screamed "I love you" before tossing the razor at Jackman. Thurston fled the scene and was arrested by the police a few blocks away. The 44-year old actor was not injured during the incident, but publicist Alan Nierob told CNN that he was "alarmed."

The "X Men" superstar reported to the police that he'd seen the woman earlier outside of his house and his daughter's school, according to CNN News. Jackman said his family's safety comes first and that the women should get help.

"I suppose for me the primary concern is my family, obviously," Jackman told Reuters. "But, you know, here's a woman who obviously needs help, so I just hope she gets the help she needs."

According to the police, a witness at the gym stated that Thurston was following the actor for a long time. The gym trainer, Mike Castle, said that she managed to slip past the register desk and was reportedly crying when she entered. Castle said Jackman was in control of the situation.

A New York Police spokesman Sgt. Tom Antonetti, said Thruston, a resident of Manhattan, was charged with fourth-degree stalking. It's unclear whether she will be represented by an attorney.
