Arrow Season 2 Spoilers: Barry Explains His Admiration for Oliver; 'Barricity' is Good for 'Olicity'

Tonight's the night many "Olicity" fans fear - the night Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), a.k.a. Felicity's new love interest debuts.

Oliver (Stephen Amell) will be at odds with Barry on some level since there will be sparks between Barry and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). Nevertheless, Barry seems to admire Oliver - at least the Arrow side of him.

According to a sneak peek of tonight's episode provided to TVLine.com, Barry and Felicity are having a chat about the vigilante. During the conversation, Barry makes some suggestions about possible improvements the vigilante could make - for example, a black suit for stealth purposes and arrows made of an aluminum carbon composite (instead of the current carbon) for "far better penetration."

The video also shows Barry was able to figure out Oliver uses "partners." He even mentions one of them is "definitely someone with a background in computer science." (Although he doesn't actually say Felicity's name he's definitely right on the money.)

Eventually Felicity asks why Barry is asking so many questions, to which he tells a touching story.

"When I was 11 my mom was murdered," said Barry. After Felicity gives her condolences he said, "They never caught the guy who did it."

"Maybe he would have," the young CSI added.

Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg told TVLine, why setting up the Barry/Felicity storyline seemed like the correct path.

"[Because] Barry and Felicity are so similar - they're both a bit uncomfortable in their own skins and very likable and personable - it just seemed like they would instantly hit it off," Kreisberg said according to the website. which would just complicate things for Oliver even more. It felt like the right way to go."

As I said before, while many of you "Olicity" shippers don't think "Barricity" is the "right way to go", it turns out it could help you.

According to EOnline, Stephen Amell explained why.

"It's one of those things where, guys do this all the time, you don't realize the depths and levels of your feelings for someone until someone else likes them," said Amell.

"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
