Chanel names Diane Kruger as the new brand ambassador for its new skincare line April 8, according to US Weekly.
"Diane Kruger is one of the freshest, most recognisable faces in film," said the statement, according to a report in The Belfast Telegraph.
Fulfilling the role of an ambassador for the French fashion house, the German beauty will be appearing in the ads for Chanel's new skincare line. Currently, no dates have been revealed but according to the statement from Chanel, it is likely to be sometime later this year.
"Attracted by her sophistication and artistic spirit, the House of Chanel chose her for its Allure fragrance advertising campaign, then again for the Paris-Biarritz handbag advertising campaign, shot by Karl Lagerfeld," the statement continued. "Now an ambassadress for Chanel, Diane Kruger will be the face of a new skincare advertising campaign, due to be unveiled in 2013."
Kruger has represented the brand in the past for its Allure perfume adverts in 1996 and nearly a decade later, she shot for the Paris-Biarritz handbag campaign by Karl Lagerfeld in 2006. Kruger said she's known the fashion icon, Lagerfeld, since she was very young and shares a close friendship with him.
She admires Lagerfeld's work. She looks upon him as her mentor and often seeks his advice. She thanked Lagerfeld for all the designer outfits he has offered over the years. Kruger notably mentioned "a haute-couture gown" designed by Lagerfeld while she attended the premier of "Troy" in Cannes.
Previously, Kruger was also named the face for Calvin Klein's fragrance line in 2010.
