Penis Size Matters to Women

According to a new study, researchers found that penis size does indeed matter to women who find larger men more attractive.

Whether penis size matters to women has been the subject of many heated debates and previous studies, surveys and polls. Since the subject is generally a more private one, no previous studies have come up with a decisive conclusion. Hence a team of international scientists took up the question in a study and found penis size does indeed matter to women.

The study's authors revealed that the main reason for them taking up this study was because previous studies provided conflicting answers and they were too shy to ask women the question directly.

"Since penis size is a sensitive subject, it's hard to determine whether females lied or 'self-deceived' in their responses," lead author Brian Mautz, a postdoctoral researcher in evolution and sexual selection at the University of Ottawa, told AFP via email.

For the study, scientists used computer-generated images of generic male figures with varying heights, body shapes and flaccid penis lengths. The life-sized robot-like pictures were then showed to 105 heterosexual women.

The pictures were rotatable so that women could view them from all angles. These women participants were not told that they were actually part of a study about penis size and were asked to rate these pictures on bases of sexual attractiveness. Their answers were collected anonymously.

Researchers found that most women rated taller men with longer penises as more attractive. It was also discovered that women tend to gaze at larger men for a longer period of time compared to smaller men but the gaze didn't last for more than three seconds.

However, scientists say they were not able to find the ideal penis size or height through the study. The findings of the study were published in the American Journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
