Elizabeth Olsen and Ian Somerhalder continue to top casting polls for the movie adaptation of E.L James' "Fifty Shades of Grey". They are favorites to play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the film.
The casting for the movie adaptation of one of the most popular books of 2012 "Fifty Shades of Grey" hasn't even begun and for months now, stars after stars have been rumored to play the lead roles in the film. Only recently was a trailer released which showed real life couple Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson playing the protagonists of the film.
While stars have come and gone on casting polls, two of them have remained the public's favourites for quite some time now. They are Elizabeth Olsen and Ian Somerhalder. An interview with Bullet last July increased Olsen's chances of being cast in the film even more.
"It's had a huge impact on society. Apparently rope sales have skyrocketed because women who've read the book are really getting into bondage, which is kind of great. It's such a taboo for women to actually discuss sexuality without the help of Cosmopolitan," Olsen said. "All of a sudden, this book has become a sensation because the women reading it haven't had access to this kind of thing before. I was talking to a guy who was making a joke about it, saying 'Clearly these women just need to watch porn.' In a way, he's right."
Olsen even said that she was more than ready to play the role if she was offered it provided the script was good.
Vampire Dairies blue-eyed boy Somerhalder seems to be the public's favorite for the role of Christian Grey and has been leading many casting polls for months now. Somerhalder too is aware of this and occasionally gives his fans something to cheer about.
Months back, when rumors of him being cast in the film were at their strongest, Somerhalder tweeted something about him reading a script but didn't specify for what. The cryptic tweet got fans even more excited as they hoped it was for "Fifty Shades."
