Ever since Stephen (Robbie Amell) learned about his powers in the first season, he’s done quite a good job keeping a low profile where his abilities are concerned. Astrid (Madeleine Mantock) is the only person Stephen has shown his powers outside of the inner circle (Tomorrow People and Ultra.)

According to the preview for this Wednesday’s episode, that may change. Stephen is going to do the one thing that super human teenagers shouldn’t use their powers to do—become popular.

In the preview, Stephen is throwing parties, dunking basketballs and may have even used his powers to get girls. At one point he uses telekinesis to save a vase that was about to hit the floor—and someone sees.

As punishment for his shenanigans, good ol’ Uncle Jedekiah (Mark Pellegrino) puts Stephen on a temporary powers restriction. You can see how badly that works out for Stephen in the preview below.

In last week’s episode we got Russell’s (Aaron Yoo) backstory. We were able to learn about his less than ideal relationship with his parents and his exceptional ability to play the piano.

According to a recent interview Executive Producers Greg Berlanti and Phil Klemmer did with EOnline, fans should get ready for Jedekiah’s backstory two episodes from now. This is arguably the most important flashback to date since it will shed some light on Stephen’s father Roger, as well as tell us about John’s (Luke Mitchell) days as an Ultra agent.

Klemmer explained fans will eventually be able to see more into the brotherly relationship between Roger and Jedekiah down the road.

"We liked the idea that in the pilot he's got a very iron-clad rational explanation for why he's doing what he's doing, but gradually we wanted to give him a personal mythology; a Cain and Abel story," Klemmer told the website. "As much as he fears and is fascinated by Tomorrow People, there's a huge degree of envy and almost a little bit of a fetish for the thing that he's hunting.

“He's so cold-blooded that we wanted to give him some very human foibles below his scientific cold agenda."

“The Tomorrow People” airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
