Five months ago, Vanessa Hudgens revealed that her father, Greg Hudgens, was diagnosed with stage four cancer. Now, the former Disney darling and "High School Musical" alum is revealing that her father's health is not progressing and is asking fans for their prayers.
"Hey guys. My dad isn't doing too well. Please say a prayer for him! It would mean a lot to me," the 27-year-old actress wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
"Grease: Live" first revealed that her dad was in poor health via Instagram last August, posting a photo of her and her dad. She captioned the post, "Please pray for his healing!!! The more prayers the better."
Hudgens opened up about her father's battle with cancer last August while accepting an award for Breakthrough Performer at the 2015 Industry Dance Awards - an award that supported The Circle of Hope, a charity for dancers who have survived cancer. During her speech, Hudgens revealed that her boyfriend, actor Austin Butler, lost his mother to cancer in 2014.
"Last year, my boyfriend, Austin, lost his mom, Lori, to cancer, and my dad has just been recently diagnosed with stage four cancer," the actress shared. "Let me tell you, I hate cancer. I hate cancer with every cell of my being."
"This award, it means a lot to me but I dedicate it to my boyfriend's mom, Lori, my dad, and to all the families out there who are struggling with this, because it really takes a strong person and a strong family to be able to help those out who are going through this," Hudgens continued while getting slightly emotional.
