Boston (10-5-1) look to make it three straight wins on Monday when they host Tampa Bay. The Bruins are coming off a 3-1 win on Saturday over the Toronto Maple Leafs, where the Bruins had two goals scored during power-plays.
"I felt our special teams were obviously the difference tonight," Bruins coach Claude Julien told the team website, via ESPN. "Penalty kill was extremely good; winning battles and getting pucks down the other end and even when they had the possession in our own end we were always in the shooting lane, didn't give them much there."
Milan Lucic leads the team with seven goals, and David Krejci leads the team with 12 assists and 15 total points, ESPN reports. Goalie Tuukka Rask, who made 33 saves against Toronto, boasts a 1.63 GAA.
"The penalty kill has been improving a lot in these past couple games and that's our bread and butter," said Rask. "We need to be a good team on the PK and we've done that in the past."
Tampa Bay (12-4-0), meanwhile, holds the best record in the Eastern Conference. Steven Stamkos has 14 goals and nine assists, both team-highs, for 23 points. A goal in overtime by Teddy Purcell ended his nine-game drought and gave the Lightning a 3-2 win on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings.
"It felt great to get the game-winner," Purcell said. "It felt like every game I was getting two or three looks, but couldn't buy one. Anytime you're in a slump like that it's great to break out, especially when you get your team two big points."
