Leonardo DiCaprio has turned down some major roles in his career, but none quite as big as Anakin Skywalker, the star of George Lucas' "Star War" prequels. In a recent interview with ShortList magazine, the 41-year-old actor revealed that he passed on the chance to play the character 2002's "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones" and 2005's "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith."

"I did have a meeting with George Lucas about that, yes," DiCaprio confirmed. "[I] just didn't feel ready to take that dive. At that point."

The role of Anakin Skywalker eventually went to Hayden Christensen, who recently admitted that he needed to take a break from Hollywood shortly after his role in the "Star Wars" series.

"I guess I felt like I had this great thing in 'Star Wars' that provided all these opportunities and gave me a career, but it all kind of felt a little too handed to me," he told the Los Angeles Times. "I didn't want to go through life feeling like I was just riding a wave."

DiCaprio also mentioned in his interview that he had passed on "Spider-Man," which went to Toby Maguire, and Robin in "Batman Forvever," which went to Chris O'Donnell, according to Entertainment Weekly. While the five time Academy Award-nominee has said no to starring in two superhero films, he is not opposed to them.

"You never know. You never know. They're getting better and better as far as complex characters in these movies. I haven't yet. But no, I don't rule out anything," he said.
