Ever since coming to Bluebell the odds have been stacked against Joel. He was struggling with living in the southern town and he has had to live around his girlfriend’s two ex-boyfriends.

However, things have gotten slightly better for Joel (Josh Cooke) in the past couple episodes. He’s making friends (even if one of them is Wade) and he’s becoming adjusted to—and quite frankly, enjoying—living down south.

Unfortunately, according to the preview for Monday’s episode, things are about to go back to being bad for Joel.

In the preview a little girl sees Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and George (Scott Porter) together and unexpectedly tells Zoe (as the girl points to George), “We think you should be with him.”

Joel takes offense to this and decides to prove to everyone that he deserves Zoe. For some reason his proof includes riding a zipline at what seems to be another peculiar Bluebell town event. However, before he takes the trip he yells down to the on-looking crowd “George is not the hero of the Zoe story—I am.” Of course, everything goes wrong as he rides the zip line and apparently crashes into something.

Although fans may not like Joel because he’s getting in the way of Zade or Zeorge, you’ve got to give him some credit. He’s been there for Zoe despite his own discomforts and has even been helpful in a few sticky situations. So that begs the question, even if you’re not a Zoel fan, are you a Joel fan?
