Texas A&M quarterback Kyler Murray has decided to transfer and will not play in the Aggies upcoming bowl game against Louisville, according to ESPN's Gerry Hamilton. The decision was reportedly confirmed with the Aggies program, as well as with Murray's family, according to Hamilton.

The freshman quarterback threw for 686 yards and five touchdowns with seven interceptions in eight games this season. He was a five star recruit out of Allen (Texas) High, and was a former Gatorade National Player of the Year in high school.

Murray has reportedly been released from his scholarship from Texas A&M and is allowed to transfer to any school out of the SEC as long as the future program does not play against the Aggies in the next four years, according to Hamilton. National letter of intent rules state that once an athlete has signed with a school, he must remain there for one academic year, but Texas A&M could release Murray from his letter of intent. The decision is left to the university, but Murray is allowed to appeal if he is not granted his release.

This is the second major recruit the Aggies have lost this month, as quarterback Kyle Allen announced his decision to transfer from the school last week. Allen started 14 games for the Aggies and threw for 3,532 yards with 33 touchdowns to 14 interceptions. Allen posted a tweet Dec. 10 thanking the university, but left no reason as to why he chose to transfer from College Station.

"To the city of College Station," Allen wrote, "the last two years of my life spent here have been unforgettable, and forever impacting on my life. The people I've met, relationship I've made, things I've learned, memories I've made will stay with me for the rest of my years. Texas A&M University is a place unlike any other, and I wish things would have worked out here. But at some points in life, people have to do what's best for them. It's with a heavy heart that I say that I am transferring from Texas A&M. I appreciate everyone and everything here. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you."

The Aggies have now lost two starting quarterbacks in less than a month, and it will be interesting to see what head coach Kevin Sumlin does to prepare his team for the Music City Bowl.  Sophomore quarterback Jake Hubenak is the next quarterback up on the Aggies roster, and will have a chance to prove himself against the Louisville Cardinals on Dec. 30.
