Apple is going to be holding a major press event on Tuesday Oct. 22 where it will unveil new iPads like the iPad 5 and the iPad mini 2. For a while it was expected that the company would be showing off some new updates that it has been working on fro its TV streaming device, Apple TV.

After sparking rumors of an all new product earlier last month, AppleInsider reports analyst, TechCrunch columnist and Google ventures parter MG Siegler on Sunday said that setbacks will see the device's launch pushed back beyond Tuesday's planned event.

"Well, now I feel the need to pour a little - just a little, mind you - cold water on the rumor fire," Siegler writes on his blog ParisLemon. "While I still haven't heard anything concrete, the most recent whispers I have heard is that the Apple TV project has been delayed a bit."

Siegler set the rumor mill going back in August when he hinted that Apple was planning to reveal updated hardware to Apple TV.  The new update was rumored to interact with the device via a new type of control scheme. It should be noted that the device In question is not expected to be a full television set but rather a streaming device in a new-style or design.

"I guess those excited about a software refresh in a week are gonna be *really* excited when new Apple TV hardware is unveiled next month," Siegler said. "It's hard to imagine Apple holding a third event following the iPhone one in September and the iPad event next week, but who knows? Not me, this time."
