The gold version of the iPhone 5S is already out in the market. But during production, Apple employees have thought about creating a moniker for the device. They have jokingly called it “The Kardashian Phone.”

The nickname was made after the socialite Kim Kardashian. The information was first divulged by reporter Nick Bilton of the New York Times on his personal Twitter account.

“A source at Apple told me while they were making the gold iPhone it was referred to internally as "The Kardashian Phone." @nickbilton

While the information was later supported by TechCrunch, there are some reporters such as Matthew Panzarino that seemed a bit embarrassed by the whole proceedings involved.

Companies such as Apple are into re-coloring their devices to give customers a somewhat unique device. In this case, it was the iPhone that got the golden re-coloring scheme. Kardashian was said to be among those who were able to get a gold iPhone 5. Just like a child beaming with her new “toy,” Karshadian proudly posted on Twitter her new acquisition:“I love my gold iPhone 5 by https://anostyle.com -- thanks @boygenius”

This year, Apple reinvented the color options are available on its flagship iPhone device. For the very first time, it is offering the eye-catching new gold color option. The iPhone 5s model has no black version unlike the iPhone 5. Instead, it is available in color hues labeled as white and “space gray.”

It should be remembered that when news about the gold version of the iPhone came out, some haters expressed their disgust with Apple and even said that the idea of releasing a gold model is totally irrelevant and unnecessary. However, these opinions were reversed upon launch with some users admitting that it wasn’t a bad idea after all.

There were early indications showing how the gold iPhone 5s is making waves among users. At this point, the device already seemed to be on an extremely limited status in the midst of the increasing demand from loyal and new fans alike.
