Don't be alarmed if you are walking down the streets of Manhattan this weekend and you see a couple of stormtroopers standing on street corner talking to a group of Klingons; New York Comic Con is in town and it is jam packed with exciting events.
HNGN is planning on covering the enormous event over the next couple of days and are kicking things off with a preview about what are the absolute must-see events on Saturday.
With a packed Javits Center and so many things to see it will be really easy to become overwhelmed. Much like when facing the zombie apocalypse it will behoove you to have a well-crafted plan of attack the minute you walk in the door.
Saturday Autograph Sessions
One of the most fun things about any comic convention is getting to experience 45 seconds of awkward conversation with the person you have dressed up as while they sign their headshot for you. All sarcasm aside, it is really fun to get to meet the actors or artists that you admire while getting a cool souvenir. Here are some of the more notable names signing on Saturday.
Billy West - The voice of characters from "Ren & Stimpy," "Doug," "Futurama" and many more. Booth 1280, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Stan Lee - Listing Mr. Lee's accolades would take the entire rest of the article; you know who he is. Booth 1555, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
William Shatner - Captain Kirk! Autographing Table 2, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Felicia Day - The star of cult classic "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog." Autographing Table 11, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Neil deGrasse Tyson - Everyone's favorite astronomer. Autographing Table 7, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Panels
One of the best ways to get spoilers for all of the shows/movies/comics that you love is to hear it directly from the people involved. Plus, after an entire day of walking around it's pretty nice to chill for an hour in one of the world's least comfortable chairs and take in a panel.
"Archer" Discussion and Q&A - Creator Adam Reed and all of the voices who bring ISIS to life will be on hand. Main Stage 1-D, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Robert Kirkman's Skybound Panel - Hear the creators of comics such as "The Walking Dead," "Thief of Thieves," "Dead Body Road" discuss upcoming news and other topics. Room 1A08, 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." - Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb will be on hand to talk about the new hit show. Main Stage 1-D, 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.
AMC's "The Walking Dead" - Everyone's favorite zombie killers will be on hand to talk about the upcoming fourth season. Main Stage 1-D, 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
