Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana Trump loves that he is running for president, but she said over the weekend that she doesn't think his third and current wife, Melania Trump, would make such a great first lady.

Ivana, who was married to the Republican front-runner from 1977 to 1991, reportedly told a guest at a party in New York City over the weekend that Melania would have trouble talking and giving speeches, reported the New York Daily News.

A partygoer told Ivana that she would make a lovely first lady, to which the 66-year-old laughed and responded, "Yes, but the problem is, what is he going to do with his third wife?"

Referring to 45-year-old Melania, Ivana said: "She can't talk, she can't give a speech, she doesn't go to events, she doesn't (seem to) want to be involved."

Melania was born in Slovenia and speaks four languages, but her English is heavily accented. On top of that, she is known for being media shy and has rarely spoken in public or appeared on the campaign trail since Trump announced his bid for office, which is surprising considering she is an international supermodel.

Melania did, however, make an appearance at the Republican debate on Wednesday alongside the Trump family, telling "Extra" that her husband "did a fantastic job" during the debate.

When asked whether she thought the CNBC debate moderators, who have been criticized for their handling of their network's debate, were "unfair or hard" or just "doing their job," Melania responded, "Just keep tough, and smart, and keep going," according to The Hill.

Ivana went on to tell the partygoer that she thinks Trump would "be a great president."

"He'll surround himself with the right people. He was always meant to be a politician."

She said that she had encouraged him to run for president in the 1980s, but "then he got involved with Marla Maples and America hated him."

Ivana and Trump have three children together and divorced in 1992 following rumors that he was having an affair with Maples. He married the actress in 1993 and broke it off in 1999, and Trump married Melania in 2005.

If Trump is elected president, he would be the first commander in chief with multiple ex-wives. Former President Ronald Regan only had one ex-wife when he was elected and remains the only president who got a divorce, according to The International Business Times.
