Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are getting a divorce. The Oscar-winning actress has filed for divorce from her husband of two years. Berry cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce documents, TMZ reported.

Berry and Martinez have a son together - two-year-old Maceo.

"It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce," the couple said in a joint statement, according to TMZ. "We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life and we hope that you respect our and most importantly, our children's privacy as we go through this difficult period."

The split was amicable because the relationship has "run its course," a source told People. The source added that Berry is "okay" following the split. The soon to be ex-spouses have a prenuptial agreement.

"They have a personality difference," TMZ reported. The site added that "they are just very, very different people. He's a very macho guy, and things just didn't jive."

Martinez was recently sued for a January incident where he was caught on video shoving an LAX employee to the ground with his child's car seat while trying to get through a swarm of paparazzi. The lawsuit has reportedly caused tensions in their marriage, according to TMZ.

Berry and Martinez met in 2010 on the set of "Dark Tide." They tied the knot on July 13, 2013 at the rustic Chateau des Conde in Martinez's native country, France. Sources also have told TMZ that Berry "is not asking for joint or primary custody, but rather what is in the best interests of the child."

Berry also has a seven-year-old daughter, Nahla Ariela, with her ex-boyfriend and model Gabriel Aubry. Unfortunately, the two have been in a custody battle since their split in 2010.

This will be Berry's third divorce and Martinez's first. The actress was first married to baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997 and R&B singer Eric Benet, from 2001 to 2005.
