With J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" just a few short months away (76 days exactly. Not that I'm obsessively waiting or anything), fans can't wait to meet up once again with their favorite characters such as Princess Leia, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. But as a new sequel is upon us for the first time in a decade, now seems as good as any time to take a look back.

It's no secret that the majority of "Star Wars" fans (and rational human beings) enjoyed the original trilogy far more than the prequels. But what about that unknown time in between? Abrams has said that "The Force Awakens" will help to bridge the gap between "Return of the Jedi" and his film that takes place 30 years later. One would have to assume that "Star Wars: Rogue One" will help fill in some of the blanks between "Revenge of the Sith" and "A New Hope."

But in case you wanted a little more background, The Hollywood Reporter reports that a new canonical web series will reveal more about Luke Skywalker's early life to curious "Star Wars" fans.

"Launching today on the LINE Webtoon portal, Star Wars: Story before The Force Awakens is a Korean webcomic by Hong Jacga that re-tells the events of the original trilogy of movies from the perspective of Luke Skywalker. That means more of Luke's past on Tatooine - including his first meeting with Ben Kenobi - as well as other elements not seen in the movies themselves, all of which counts as Star Wars canon."

This could turn out to be an enjoyable series that provides fans with a few extra kernels of fun facts and tidbits from the early days of Luke's life. You can check out the comic by clicking here.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on Dec. 18.
