GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump reached out to religious leaders at a prayer meeting at Trump Towers on Sept. 28.

Among the 40 invitees at the meeting, which lasted approximately two and a half hours, were Pastor Paula White, Pastor Darrell Scott, televangelists Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, TBN religious broadcaster Jan Crouch, conservative evangelical Christian Pastor David Jeremiah and Jews For Jesus Rabbi Kirt Schneider.

At the end of the meeting, the religious leaders gathered in prayer around Trump, laying their hands on him. Leading the prayers were Copeland, White, and Rabbi Schneider, who asked God to grant wisdom, stability and knowledge to Trump. The congregation also prayed for America, reports The Brody File on CBN.

The religious leaders were effusive in their praise of Trump after the meeting.

"It's kind of interesting, the dichotomy between the private Donald Trump and the public Donald Trump. He listened a lot more than he spoke. He never once interrupted me," said CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Javier Palomarez according to CNN.

"He has a very high regard and a very deep respect for men and woman of the cloth," said Pastor Darrell Scott who was of the opinion that Trump was open to criticism and accepted suggestions to tone down his rhetoric, reports Breitbart News.

During the meeting Trump promised to reach out to African-American voters, discussed Israel, talked about countering the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), shared his ideas on fiscal policies and religious liberty with the forum, reports The Hill.
