Jimmy Kimmel predicted a little more than a year ago that his good friend Tracy Morgan would return to the Emmy stage this fall. He was right.

Host Andy Samberg announced Morgan as the final presenter of the night and the "30 Rock" star was greeted by a standing ovation. He saluted the crowd then thanked his doctors, his family and his new bride (Megan Wollover) for helping him make it back "standing on his own two feet."

Morgan suffered a traumatic brain injury during a car accident in June 2014 that claimed the life of his mentor James "Jimmy Mack" McNair. He joked on the Emmy stage that when he came out of his eight-day coma, he was "just ecstatic to learn that I wasn't the one to mess up."

He made his first official public appearance on the "Today" show earlier this summer and will host the third episode on the upcoming season of "Saturday Night Live."

The comedian also admitted that he has started to feel like his old self again, which meant that "a whole lot of women gonna get pregnant at the after party." The joke had his former co-stars Tina Fey and Jane Krakowski laughing hysterically in their seats.

Morgan then did his duty and announced "Game of Thrones" as the winner of the Outstanding Drama Series for the 2015 Emmys.
