Looks like the original "Ghostbusters" crew is back and ready for action! Ernie Hudson will be joining his former costars Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd for Sony's reboot of the legendary film from 1984, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 69-year-old actor was seen on the film's set for the first time during their last day of shooting this past Saturday.

Originally, when the idea for the all-female cast reboot came about, Hudson admitted that although he "loved females," he wasn't all for it. "If they're not funny at least hopefully it'll be sexy," he told Telegraph. "I don't think fans want to see that."

Once he realized that it would be female comedian legends like Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy starring in the film, he realized it wasn't such a bad idea after all. "Four fiercely funny, foxy, females, busting ghosts...phenomenal!" he told The Hollywood Reporter at the time.

The director, Paul Feig, praised Hudson on Twitter and confirmed that he was definitely a cast member. "Thanks to the great @Ernie_Hudson for joining us on our last day of production," he wrote. "He is a class act and an incredibly talented and funny man."

It is unclear whether or not Hudson will be playing his original character Winston Zeddemore. "Ghostbusters" hits theaters July 22, 2016.
