66-Year-Old Man Needs Penis Amputated After Overdosing On Male Enhancement Drug Viagra; Gangrene Infection To Blame

A 66-year-old Colombian man purposely overdosed on male enhancement drug Viagra to impress his new girlfriend, and needed his penis amputated after it should signs of gangrene.

Local newspaper La Nacion reports the man is reportedly local farmer and politician from Gigante, Huila. He confessed to the paper he just wanted to please his girlfriend in bed.

However, the anonymous man noticed something was wrong when his erection lasted a "few days" and began to hurt.

He sought medical attention, where doctors found his penis was inflamed, fractured and showed signs of gangrene. His penis need to be amputated in order to prevent the infection to spread throughout his body.

"The patient showed bruising on the testicles and penis, was treated and is recovering well," a doctor told the local newspaper.

The hospital warned the misuse of erectile dysfunction drugs comes with severe consequences.

However, other drugs may also cause a man to lose his penis. According to the Detroit Free Press, a male was found at a local middle school "covered in blood from the waist down and parts of his genitals ripped off."

"He really wasn't saying much at all - a lot of yelling and screaming," Sgt. Geoff Fox told the Detroit Free Press, adding the man broke into the school but did not take anything. "He wasn't making sense. They couldn't really communicate with him in terms of constructive conversation."

The man admitted to police he had taken hallucinogenic mushrooms or "magic mushrooms."

"We've sent his blood off for further analysis to see if there was anything else, if the mushrooms could have been laced with something," Fox said.

According to authorities, the man had no prior "history of mental problems or extensive drug use." The man was near death when police found him at the middle school.
